The Prizefighter

This is a showreel of an actor with martial arts background. Very ideal for a toughy character and the likes. We gave it a bio/movie trailer look to complete the effect. Heads up all you producers!

Interesting to film a multicultural wedding happening in Cebu. The couple met in Singapore. Both are FA’s. Mark is of Indian-Chinese descent while Cathy is Filipina. The day kicked off with a Tea Ceremony in the morning (obviously Chinese) followed by a Catholic Ceremony where the groom and the male entourage wore barongs. The evening was Indian where the bride wore a beautiful blue sari. The guests were a colorful bunch of different ethnicity. ‘..like a gathering of the United Nations’ the host remarked.

Wedding Planner: Connie Te, photography by Christopher Colinares, hair & makeup by Gari Son.

I met Carlo two years before and Steph not long after. They booked early and have prepared well in advance for this wedding so the sense of anticipation was just building up. And now its finally here. A gorgeous pair in one classy affair. Wedding planner: Snoogie Mata Photography by Rainbowfish. Hair and Makeup by Ramil Solis. Ceremony at the Perdo Calungsod. The Reception dinner at the Radisson Blu was hosted by Jude Bacalso. All professional. Painless.

My advise to brides and grooms to be: Get the best and book early.

Our first post quake Bohol wedding. The evidence is still visible as we stepped out into the pier. The wide cracks on the pavement and the damage on some of the building catches your eyes and you wonder how the locals must have felt when it happened.

I was surprised to find out that Panglao did not shake as much as the rest oh Bohol and so spared us and the couple of the pain of cancellation.

This was a beautiful beach wedding. Things that had been kept unsaid for years were released and am sure took a lot of courage. That day I saw forgiveness and acceptance in the family. The whole ceremony was just overflowing with love.

Beautiful pictures were taken by photographer Marlon Capuyan, event planning by Marigold of Silver Bleu Events. Everything was held on the picturesque South Palms Resort in Panglao (formerly Bohol Beach Club). I took note of the very good service and would recommend the resort for destination weddings in Bohol.

Destination weddings are extra special because of the massive effort to transport the whole wedding (entourage, suppliers, the whole shebang) to another place. I mean the effort to make everything work despite the unfamiliarity of the locale. I salute the planner Berlyn Yap & her crew for a seamless and wonderful day. You have made this day memorable to Mark & Cat.

Yesterday we shot a wedding of lawyers. Today, it’s all about medical doctors. I guess the saying is true. ‘Bird of the same feather flock together’. I’ve always imagined doctors to be distant, dignified and respectable but I am disarmed by the playful demeanor of our couple on their wedding day. You guys know how to have fun!

Yvette Silvestre did the planning. Mark Cantalejo did the photo. The beautiful gown from Ronald Enrico. Host Rommel Pareja warmed the Reception.

Yolanda was the biggest storm to hit the Philippines this year. And it happens on their wedding day of all days. The winds started misbehaving early morning. By mid day the raging storm revealed its full strength -Shaking if not pulling trees violently and dismantling roofs piece by piece. Amidst all this we were shooting the prep. Business as usual. As the realization dawned on everyone that this could be catastrophic, it was decided to move the actual wedding the next day. Everyone thought it was an excellent idea. And so we started where we left off the day before and shot the wedding just like we did a hundred times past.

First time working with planner Carlo Abaquita who ‘weathered’ the storm and gave us a beautiful wedding. Dondon Colinares did the photography. Ramil Solis did the hair and make up. Ever funny Rommel Pareja hosted the evening’s celebration.

A Frenchman and his beautiful bride. The venue was at the path of a tornado that rampaged the night before. But that did not dampen the mood of this romantic wedding at Shangrila Mactan. The party is ongoing as I write this.

Wedding Planner Joan Lapus of The Wedding Belle does it again! Shutter Fairy did the Photography. Emi Ayag did the hair and make up of the gorgeous bride. Ryan Uybengkee hosted the dinner.
