Here’s a lovely wedding in Bohol. Wayne and Pia exchanged I do’s at the historic Baclayon church. A fantastic reception was held outdoors under a giant acacia tree at the seaside Lawis Cafe. The evening celebration was reminiscent of a hippie gathering where everyone dressed the part.

As a finale, The guests were treated to a paper balloon releasing where the evening sky was later filled with bright yellow specks floating lazily away. The locals must have wondered what they were.

Shot entirely with canon dslrs (5d and 7ds), the colors are very saturated. Stability and focus remain a challenge for the all-manual operation of the cams. The footages however, have more latitude in terms of color correction and grading.

Event styling was flawlessly executed by much sought after wedding planner STANZ CATALAN. Photography by no less than MANGO RED and wedding cinematography by DIGITAL MINDS.

Well after we began shooting the prep when the bride decides to get an onsite video. For a minute I was undecided if I should try or decline. We did not bring the laptop and extra crew with us but after considering, I took the challenge and drove back to the office to get the necessary stuff to conjure the magic.

Fast forward to the reception, we showed the video on time with minutes to spare. Though I was glad we pulled that off, it was too close for comfort. I’d prefer the decision to do an onsite be way before we start shooting.

Beside that, the whole event went on flawlessly ending with the bride and groom happily dancing the night away at the City Sports Club ballroom . Thanks to event planner EVAN FERMIN and her staff who executed perfectly.

We shot the outdoor scenes at Pandanon Island off the coast of Bohol. We were fortunate to have the cooperation of the weather that gave us a beautiful picturesque golden sunset.

The evening scenes were shot at a very grand and elegant residence in Beverly Hills where everything was pleasant to the eyes no matter where the cameras point.

And then there’s Benjo and Lalie who teased and toyed with the cameras like pros. You guys are natural! If you were not in Benjo and Lalie’s wedding last night then here’s the hot pre-wedding video. : )

After more than a decade of courtship the wait is over. Winston and Chika finally said ‘I do’ amidst their friends and family at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral last July 12, 2010. There were many challenges in their relationship over the years but as they say: ‘love conquers all’. Congratulations Winston and Chika!!! And to the rest of you who missed the wedding, here are some juicy tidbits! : )

“Nineteen gorgeous ladies vying for the title of… Miss Southern Leyte 2010!”, exclaimed the hosts. Yes, the Miss Southern Leyte 2010 Pageant was truly an awesome event, mesmerizing a gigantic crowd populating the Capitol grounds. What made it even more special was that the pageant was part of the 50th Founding Anniversary celebration of the province which occurs only… you guessed it – every half a century. Their sexy swimsuits were provided by Salvador Malto of The Company We Keep. Hats off to pageant director Alex “Django” Gómez Diola who did a phenomenal job (with only two weeks to prepare, I might add). You certainly pulled it off, my friend! Again, the Digital Minds Video Team was there to cover the ladies… errr… the event.

All the contestants looked super gorgeous and Miss San Juan certainly deserved the crown. My personal favorite was Miss Sogod who I think won the crowd over with her elegance. Miss Maasin was most eloquent and bagged second place. Everyone else exuded confidence and grace as they did their thing on the stage. I’m sure the judges had a hard time.

One thing I learned about Southern Leyte is that the province has an abundance of natural beauty such as waterfalls, pristine beaches, caves and rock formations all waiting to be discovered by fellow Filipinos and international travelers alike.

Who knows? The provincial government might tap the likes of Digital Minds to document these spots as a way to encourage tourism to these parts of the country. But then again, we might cover the event next year…

This has got to be one of the most beautiful weddings we shot this year. Super gorgeous bride Elisa had everyone spellbound including the dashing groom who was tongue tied at the altar as he pronounced his vows. Sorry John Jay this was all caught on video. But all the raw emotions say it all. Congratulations!!!
